It’s A New Year, and Time for Reflection
In January of 2023, Wayne’s Roofing was able to celebrate a memorable Employee Appreciation event, Glowing Back to the 80s. In 2021 we couldn’t hold the event due to the pandemic but finally gathered again in March 2022.
This year’s event brought us back to our tradition of celebrating a year’s hard work in January and felt like a new beginning. Our President and CEO, Rod Wetherbee, reminded us of how far we’ve come since the 80s and reminded us of Wayne’s Roofing founding principles.
Your word is your handshake, take accountability.
Everyone is equal, it doesn’t matter if you work upstairs, downstairs, in the field, or in the shop, everyone is important.
Surround yourself with good people and take care of the ones that take care of you, your family.
If you want to succeed you climb the ladder.
Quality, Integrity, and Reliability are Number One.
Do it right the first time, and if it breaks, fix it.

We heard from all the departments that make up Wayne’s Roofing, Sales, Administration, Accounting, Service, and Operations, and recognized 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, and 50 years of service. With a special tribute to Don Guthrie for 50 years of dedicated service.
“Don Guthrie has been a key player in establishing the Wayne’s Way,” said Rod as he recognized Don. “He is a man who has learned and has taught. He has dedicated his life to this company. Over the years he has donated countless hours to our industry, and he and his family have donated countless hours and funds to their community. I don’t just look at Don as a co-worker/business partner, but as a friend and as family. He is a giver and a teacher. He strives every day to do his very best while making this industry, this company, and community a better place.”
Highlights of 2022
Last year had its challenges, but the hard work and dedication of our entire team paid off. Here is a list of some of the accolades and great achievements for 2022.
Wayne’s Roofing, Inc., was recognized as an E&I Cooperative Partner of the Year. The E&I Cooperative Partner of the Year is recognized as a business partner who has achieved strong business growth through customer service, quality product service, responsiveness, and assistance in providing expertise and solutions to procurement professionals.
We ranked 39th for Top General Contractors in the Region according to the annual Contractor listing in the Puget Sound Business Journal.
Mike Trout, Project Executive, was featured in an issue of NRCA’s Professional Roofing.
Dan Johnson was featured in the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA) Future Executives Institute.
Logan Benson received the Apprentice of the Year Award.
Wayne’s Roofing made the Top 100 List from Roofing Contractor, showing the top 100 Roofing Companies in the nation. Wayne’s Roofing ranked #51 in the nation, and out of the four roofing companies that made the list for Washington state, we ranked #1, ranking #2 for the Pacific region.
Engineering News-Record (ENR) announced their Top 600 Specialty Contractors for 2022, and Wayne’s Roofing, Inc., ranked 14th in Roofing nationally, #462 in Specialty Contractors, and #1 in Washington!
Brian Butler was appointed Board VP for the Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA).
Several leaders from our Sales/Operations/Service departments attended the Western Roofing Expo in Las Vegas.
We even got a new roof!
Here at Wayne’s Roofing, we believe that “Teamwork makes the Dream Work.” Our team is made up of over 150 committed team members, and with everyone’s commitment to that team, we continue to grow and flourish. At our Appreciation event in January, we reviewed our goals for 2023:
